After years of planning, delays, and doubts, the Merge is finally here, and you can watch it live. Living up to the anticipation and excitement around the Merge, the Ethereum Foundation has scheduled an Ethereum Mainnet Merge Viewing Party live stream. The event went live on YouTube<\/a> at 4 am UTC\u2014that\u2019s roughly an hour and a half before the Merge takes place.<\/p>\n

The Merge marks Ethereum\u2019s full transition to the Proof-of-Stake mechanism of verifying transactions, dropping its Proof-of-Work ways. When the network reaches a total terminal difficulty of 58750000000000000000000, the Merge will be executed. The next block produced will then use the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism.<\/p>\n

The Merge transforms the long-awaited dream of the co-founder Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum community into a reality. It is one of the biggest events in the history of crypto and blockchain. The grand event has been in the making for more than six years.<\/p>\n

Guests to be expected at the live stream include the Ethereum Cat Herders and content creators from Bankless. Buterin and founder of \u201cThe Daily Gwei\u201d Anthony Sassano might also join in, according to the Foundation\u2019s YouTube description.<\/p>\n

In addition to the YouTube countdown, there are several other sites where viewers can watch the Merge live. They are Bordel.wtf.<\/a> Google<\/a>, Wenmerge.com<\/a>, BTC.com<\/a> and Blockchain.com<\/a>. All the aforementioned websites have a running tally of the current total Total Terminal Difficulty and an estimated Merge time.<\/p>\n\n\n
