In a recent interview with YouTube channel AltcoinDaily, Shark Tank star and billionaire Mark Cuban has said that Dogecoin has more applications than Cardano. In Cuban’s assessment, while Cardano has had smart contracts for almost a year, its impact is limited. Cuban also claimed that people in Africa are not using the blockchain as much as was expected.
This is not the first time the billionaire investor has questioned Cardano’s utility. Last May, Cuban tweeted that he was unaware of any potential use cases for the popular proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain.
Other things Cuban said during the podcast
The hour-long podcast with crypto as the central topic of discussion went beyond Cuban’s thoughts on Dogecoin and Cardano, though. Expressing concerns about the lack of innovation in the crypto space, he said, “rather than seeing true innovation, you see replication.”
When the conversation moved to the upcoming Ethereum Merge, Cuban said there was a lot of uncertainty around the crypto’s transition to proof-of-stake. He also weighed in on the subject of regulation, criticizing the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s “regulation by litigation” approach.
