Coca-Cola extends a friendly hand with NFT airdrops on Polygon

Coca-Cola NFTs

Big brands keep furthering their Web 3.0 vision at every chance, and Coca-Cola is no different. On August 7, 2022 (International Friendship Day), the company revealed airdropping exclusive digital collectibles to each of its fans who have been a part of its metaverse journey through the past year.

Inspired by bubbles

The brand-new digital collectible is inspired by the bubbles floating inside a Coke bottle. As announced by Coca-Cola, the airdrop happened on 30 July 2022, with Polygon as the host chain. Created by Tafi—an avatar firm—the collectibles are meant to celebrate the spirit of Friendship.

However, it was only yesterday that Polygon Studios tweeted about the fun aspect of these collectibles.

According to the tweet, the digital collectibles launched by Coca-Cola are generative, first-of-their-kind, and entirely sharable. Each exclusive NFT will have a share-to-reveal feature, urging recipients to maximize sharing to get a glimpse of the art.

It is to be noted that Tafi has previously collaborated with Coca-Cola to release Pride-themed digital collectibles on June 30, 2022.

With the latest release, Coca-Cola plans on building its virtual ecosystem better. The sharable nature of the new NFTs is also expected to expand the brand’s fan community by making more people explore the open blockchain.

Pratik Thakar of Coca-Cola believes that the new NFT airdrop on Polygon is a milestone opportunity for celebrating and thanking fans who participated in the company’s metaverse journey.

The company has also mentioned that as the virtual community keeps growing, the collectible owners will get access to perks, rewards, early access to product launches, gaming events, and more.
