Despite the ongoing rout in art and collectibles NFT marketplaces, Bored Ape NFTs have managed to draw the attention of collectors and investors once again.
An NFT collector and BAYC superfan going by the name of Vis.eth has managed to bag a rare NFT. Vis.eth added the valuable Bored Ape #5383 to his collection for 777 ETH (approximately $1.5 million).
Bored Ape #5383 is the 285th rarest Ape NFT in the 10,000-strong collection of BAYC NFT. The ape in the NFT is a six-trait gold fur with a lumberjack shirt, angry eyes, and a bored unshaven mouth. The most expensive Bored Ape NFT of all time continues to be #8817, which was sold for $3.4 million.
As per the byte given by Vis.eth to Bored Ape Gazette, he wanted to purchase the NFT because of the solid golden fur it features. The fur is considered to be a rare trait in BAYC NFT collections. Vis.eth has a large collection of BAYC NFTs, costing millions of dollars, spread across two wallets. The collection consists of 60+ land NFTs from Yuga Lab’s upcoming metaverse project.
The seller, on the other hand, purchased the NFT for just $242,000 in August last year. With this sale, the seller goes home with a handsome profit of 682 ETH or $1.2 million.
Given the prevailing bearish sentiment in the market and the drop in the floor price of BAYC NFTs in the recent past, the transactions are a pleasant surprise.
