The National Stock Exchange of India Limited, known as the “NSE,” and the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited, better known as the “BSE,” are two of the most important exchanges in India for dealing in securities. We provide an overview of India’s prominent stock exchanges, complete with a list of market holidays for your ready reference.
They provide services related to trade throughout the year. The exchanges are open for business throughout the weekdays from 9.15 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. (normal session), giving traders 6 hours and 15 minutes to transact business. The exchanges remain closed on weekends. There is no trading on stocks, equity derivatives, or the Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) section on specific trading holidays.

BSE Exchange
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), one of India’s most prestigious stock markets, is home to almost 6,000 listed firms. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is crucial to India’s economic progress since it oversees the country’s financial markets and puts unused capital to productive use.
The BSE market is open from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but is closed on weekends. From 9 a.m. until 9:15 a.m., traders participate in the “pre-market open.” In addition to weekends, the Bombay Stock Exchange does not operate on several national holidays with cultural or religious importance.
