BounceBit

BounceBit is a Bitcoin staking protocol that blends decentralized finance (DeFi) and centralized finance (CeFi) mechanisms to enable yields for users. The BounceBit chain adopts a dual-token PoS secured by BTC and BB. It leverages Bitcoin’s security with full EVM compatibility, making it a unique blockchain platform.

BounceBit was founded in 2024 by Jack Lu, an expert in blockchain’s consensus mechanisms.

BB was launched in May 2024. Since its launch, the token is up over 50%, indicating crypto investor’s interaction with the token. As of December 2024, BB ranks #321 with a market cap of $219.07 million. It holds an all-time high of $0.8655, recorded on June 6, 2024. With the uptrend in the broader crypto market, the BB token is also showing bullish momentum and is expected to reach a price level of $1.48 by 2030.

Instead of the Initial Coin Offering (ICO), BounceBit follows an unlock mechanism where the BB tokens will be released to the market following a schedule. The total supply of 2.1 billion BB tokens will be gradually unlocked over the next six years through monthly airdrops and unlock events. The distribution plan allocates 35% for staking rewards, 21% for investors, 14% for ecosystem reserves and BounceClub, 10% for the team, 8% for the Binance Megadrop, 5% for advisors, 4% for testnet users and early community members, and 3% for market-making activities.
