What Is Taker Fee?

The taker fee is the fee you pay when your order "takes" liquidity: you buy or sell against existing orders in the book. A market order is always a taker order. A limit order can be a taker if it crosses the spread (e.g. you place a buy limit above the best ask and it fills at once). Taker fees are usually higher than maker fees. If you need to execute immediately, you accept the taker fee. For lower fees, use limit orders at prices that do not cross the spread so you act as maker.
