What Is Two-Factor Authentication in Crypto?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) means you need a second proof (besides your password) to log in. Usually you get a code from an app (e.g. Google Authenticator) or SMS. Even if someone steals your password, they cannot log in without the second factor. Always enable 2FA on exchanges and wallet apps. Prefer an authenticator app over SMS (SMS can be hijacked). When you set up 2FA, save the backup codes in a safe place in case you lose your phone.
